ABOUT US

History of Boklua View Resort

If you follow the mountain roads north of the city of Nan, you’ll discover a green valley just before you get to some of Nan’s tallest peaks. There you’ll find locals living as they have for centuries, planting and harvesting expansive rice fields, fishing Mang river, and extracting salt from the saline waters that run underground.

The founder of Boklua View Resort, Toun Upajak, drew inspiration from his desire to return to his hometown, to develop the local community. He envisioned creating a small resort that would welcome visitors and allow them to discover the unique charm of Nan Province.

As a former hotel chef in Bangkok, Toun's experiences led him to create a menu that showcases the local flavors, using ingredients from the community. This not only allowed visitors to savor the local delicacies but also contributed to the income of the locals. Toun wanted people to experience the beauty of Boklua's unique charms and ensure the preservation of the province's forests and water sources. This dream eventually led to the establishment of Boklua View Resort.

Throughout the past 17 years, Toun's vision has led to the discovery of his own answers, the desire for this place to be enjoyed and appreciated by others who will support the local community. Boklua View Resort is like a personal oasis within the national park, and the location of each bungalow offers privacy and unique views. Among the 21 different accommodation options, each one is meticulously designed, featuring bamboo accents that add to the local touch, resulting in beautiful spaces with distinctive character in every corner.
